What is Network Spinal Analysis
Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) is the scientifically proven chiropractic approach we use at Thrive.
It is grounded in Reorganisational Healing, an innovative approach to achieving health and happiness, and together with Somato Respiratory Integration and The Four Seasons of Wellbeing, NSA empowers people to overcome physical and emotional stresses.
No twisting, popping or cracking
While traditional chiropractic treatment physically readjusts the spine, NSA relieves underlying tensions by affecting the nervous system through gentle and precise touches.
The spinal cord’s purpose is to communicate signals from the brain to other parts of the body. When these signals are interfered with, both body and mind are significantly affected. This interference is caused by the physical, chemical, psychological and social stresses of day-to-day life.
Your nervous system holds on to these tensions, causing your spine to become misaligned and the communication between your body and mind obstructed. These tensions manifest themselves in a variety of physical, emotional and mental symptoms.
Less is more…
The gentle and precise touches performed by your NSA Chiropractor cause the brain to recognise where these stresses are being stored in the body. Two healing waves then develop to help your body connect to and release the stored tension. The experience is completely unique and inherently relaxing.
An evidence-based approach to wellness and body awareness
In one survey, the University of California found that 76% of 2,818 NSA patients reported feeling significant improvements in all of the following areas:
- Physical wellbeing
- Mental/emotional wellbeing
- Response to stress
- Life enjoyment
- Overall quality of life
These are all measurable results, which work together to create a peace within the body and mind and an overall feeling of physical and mental wellbeing far beyond expectation.

+ WHAT IS A TYPICAL VISIT TO THRIVE CHIROPRACTIC LIKE?
During most visits to Thrive Chiropractic you’ll experience Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) sessions, during which people report a deep sense of relaxation, releasing tension and ‘melting’ into the bench as a wave-like sensation spreads across the spine.
You’ll be fully clothed and lying face down on a specialised table whilst Dr. Krishan Ramyead evaluates your spine, muscles, nerves, posture and breathing patterns. He’ll then use gentle and precise touches to the spine that cause your brain to generate the revolutionary tension-releasing Network Wave. A typical session lasts 15 minutes and you’ll leave feeling more relaxed, energised and at peace.
NSA is just one of the revolutionary tools you’ll experience at Thrive Chiropractic. During other visits we will work with you to help you learn specific body-mind exercises called Somato Respiratory Integration incorporated in The Four Seasons of Wellbeing, which will help you get the most out of your NSA care and allow you generate sustainable healing in your day-to-day life.
+ WHAT KIND OF RESULTS CAN I EXPECT RIGHT AWAY?
You can expect to immediately feel more relaxed, loose and flexible in your body. Your breathing will become deeper and easier. In most cases, your tension levels will be significantly reduced within a short period time.
But that’s just the tip of the iceberg. As your body shifts out of ‘fight or flight’ mode, you’ll begin to experience more clarity and a sense of inner calm. This is the beginning of the many life-changing benefits Thrive Chiropractic has to offer.
+ WHAT IS NETWORK SPINAL ANALYSIS AND HOW IS IT DIFFERENT FROM TRADITIONAL CHIROPRACTIC METHODS?
Network Spinal Analysis evolved from Network Chiropractic, a method developed in the mid 1980s by Dr. Donald Epstein to help patients resolve tension patterns caused when the spinal cord is over-stretched during physical injury or when the body is under mental or emotional stress.
Instead of adjusting or aligning your spine through cracking or popping, a Network Spinal Analysis practitioner uses very light pressure on specific parts of your spine (your neck and tailbone in most cases). The pressure causes a wave-like movement and breathing pattern to occur along your spine, releasing tension and helping your body de-stress and unwind. Unlike traditional chiropractic methods, no twisting, popping or cracking is necessary.
+ HOW CAN I BE SURE YOUR PROCESS WILL WORK FOR ME?
The best way to find out if our process will work for you is simply to try it out. We have worked with more than 1000 people from over 30 countries and in 4 continents. We are confident that if you are right for practice (determined by an initial consultation and report), you will notice changes on the very first Network Spinal Analysis session.
We do our best to educate you about what is happening and we’ll explain in detail what to expect and how long it will take to reach your goals. Whilst it is often difficult for any practitioner to guarantee results regarding specific symptoms, we are confident that you will know immediately if you’re in the right place by how you feel after during and after sessions.
+ WHAT CONDITIONS/SYMPTOMS CAN YOU HELP WITH?
Network Spinal Analysis is not considered a ‘therapeutic’ approach because its main goal is not just the ‘treatment’ of symptoms. Instead, the main goal is to optimise the way your brain and body communicate, so that you can truly heal in a sustainable way. By releasing tension from the spine and helping the nervous system to adapt to stress more effectively, our unique processes have helped thousands of people experience relief or improvement in the following areas:
• Joint pain e.g. hip pain and knee pain
• General aches, pains, spasms and cramps
• Acute and/or chronic back pain
• Neck pain
• Headaches including migraines
• Frozen shoulder
• Shoulder/elbow pain
• Tension and inability to relax
+ HOW OFTEN WILL I NEED TO HAVE COME IN?
Your recommended visit frequency will depend on your body’s current condition, your lifestyle and your overall health and wellness objectives.
We offer different programmes to suit different needs and will discuss these with you on your second visit as part of your Report of Findings. During your initial visits we’ll evaluate your specific situation and decide together which programme is best for you. If none of our programmes ‘fit’, we’ll create a customised programme to meet your specific needs.
+ WHAT SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE DO YOU HAVE THAT YOUR METHODS WORK?
Network Spinal Analysis is a revolutionary approach and can appear strange at first. However, it is on the frontier of body-mind research and has attracted some world-renowned experts.
A retrospective survey of over 2,800 people conducted through University California’s Irvine Medical College documented significant improvements in perceived quality of life in the majority of people receiving NSA. The wave patterns that occur during an NSA session are the focus of a number of research papers by French mathematician professor, Edmund Jonckheere, and his colleagues in the USC Department of Engineering.
+ I’VE SUFFERED FROM BACK PAIN FOR YEARS. WHAT WOULD YOU SUGGEST?
Back pain, especially chronic back pain, is rarely a one cause, one cure situation. There are many factors that can contribute to ongoing back pain, including unresolved physical injuries as well as emotional and mental stress.
Rather than just giving you a twist or a pop for temporary relief, we suggest a holistic approach that will help you identify and change the patterns that are contributing to your back pain.
Through low force Network Spinal Analysis (a unique method that promotes a spontaneous wave-like release of tension within the spine) and a specific series of exercises called Somato Respiratory Integration and The Four Seasons of Wellbeing, we’ll help you release tension and connect to the underlying source of your pain so that you can truly resolve it.
